And let's just say: boom. Two more cutterific innings to end the spring! So cutterific. 5 K's total in the second and third frames. That's like, 96% strikeouts. And no walks, either. Plus one SMASHED ground ball to shortstop. Clearly Roy is all ready to break the Nationals' faces off next Monday, so they only gave him a couple innings of work yesterday uh-gaynst (Canadian pronunciation) his old team. Just think, in four long, excruciating days, Roy will be pitching for real. For our team. OMG so exciting!
"Roy Halladay is the Babe Ruth of pitchers." -- Tom Verducci, SI
p.s. if you haven't read the Sports Illustrated article on Roy yet, do it. Now.
p.s. Don't forget to submit your ZWR #CUTTERED Time Capsule by the end of tomorrow.
Edit: Huh? What? Oh. The first inning? Hmm. I'm not sure, but I don't think he pitched. I didn't start watching until the second. But anyway, even if he did, I'm sure it was great. And even if it wasn't, it was probably just to make some of his Blue Jays buddies feel better for a short while before the drudgery of their impending 90-loss season. I mean, Roy's not a monster.
