This article is one giant poop sausage set on fire and formed into a giant poop sculpture from the melted poop remains.
"Manuel won more games than any manager in the team’s history, and he won a championship here in 2008."
"The bottom line is, he underachieved."
About the Metro: Metro is a free daily newspaper written and designed for young and ambitious professionals. Designed for a 20-minute read, the paper gives metropolitans all they need to know, Monday through Friday, during their morning commutes.
Sad to say but he did underachieve. Looking back on what he accomplished with potentially the best pitchers, 2nd, SS, and 1B in team history from 2008-2011 to only come away with 1 World Series is under achieving. Everyone in Philly expected more, Charlie expected more, the girl selling peanuts expected more, and the team didn't achieve the goals they had.
ReplyDeleteNo, not everyone in Philly. Those of us who started watching the Phillies long before the Charlie era didn't really expect squat thanks to the ownership not giving a crap for too many years. The fact that they actually gave Charlie a team was the surprise.
Delete"only" one World Series? I hate you.
DeleteI dIdn't expect more, I was happy and content after' '08. and proud of Mr. Manual and the scrappin' Phillies. I was puzzled by the offseason trades made by Rubes. I was elated that we made it to the World Series in '09, perplexed by the trades of 09-10. I saw the trend after 2010. And stopped caring after 2011.
DeleteWait, I do care; what a lousy way to send Charlie off. What lunacy is this? What human would do this!
A human wouldn't do this but Rubes would.
Speak for yourself, moron
ReplyDeleteI would like to know how the fuck bringing in Papelbon one batter earlier would have helped from 2007-2011, when Papelbon was with the Red Sox.
ReplyDeleteFacts are meaningless. You can use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true.
DeleteIn this morning's Metro Cataldi also wrote a whole article about how smart Chip Kelly is for not naming a starter, for pushing Mike Vick by making it an ongoing competition. Around noon today, Kelly announced that Vick is the starter.
ReplyDeleteSo when has Cataldi not been an idiot?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely right about Cataldi. And the Metro stinks too
ReplyDeleteI heard Cataldi crapping on yesterday on his show about Cholly underachieving. I should have called and asked him how he feels having underachieved in his career on a daily basis. He is an eff knuckle.
ReplyDeleteI think Cataldi was off unless you were visiting him at the shore.
Deleteit sucks ass charlie was fired, but its awesome that angelo is off the week it happened. a bit of karma.
ReplyDeleteThis was only your 5,000th indication that Cataldi is a pox on Philadelphia, right? (That's a quick estimate and might be low.)
ReplyDeleteShould of kept Pedro Feliz
