There have been many names circulated as potential choices for the Phils with the first pick in the 2016 MLB Draft. Florida pitcher A.J. Puk, NJ prep phenom Jason Groome, Mercer outfielder Kyle Lewis, and high school bat Mickey Moniak tend to get thrown around most frequently. Each of those players is fine, though it seems that last night a true leader of the pack has emerged.
With two weeks left until the draft itself, there still is time for evaluations to change, but ZWR is absolutely locked in and dead set on Florida outfielder Buddy Reed as the right choice.
WHY IS THAT, ZWR? I KNOW YOU'RE AN EXPERT AND ALL BUT WHAT DID YOU SEE IN REVIEWING SEC GAME TAPE?
What I saw was pure magic (and you're right, I am an expert). Mr. Reed hit a triple against a legit stud banger perennial powerhouse LSU squad in the first inning of their last game and then - wait for it - ate a bag of Sour Patch Kids while standing on third base. Yes. Yes, he did.

There's zero chance that anyone else is the pick. High school pitchers arms fall off, Puk doesn't wow me, I don't even know where Mercer is. Srsly. Make it happen, the Phillies. He ate a pack of Sour Patch Kids on third base.
